Anna & Will's Timeless Southeast Texas Wedding Ceremony
Anna & Will’s wedding day was the perfect reflection of who they are as a couple: joyful, grounded, and full of warmth. From the moment I arrived at the bride's getting ready suite to the sparkler send-off, there was an effortless sense of peace woven through the day, balanced by the excitement of family and friends gathering to celebrate such a sacred occasion.
I’ve had the privilege of photographing Anna & Will through several big milestones: from both of their graduations, to engagement, and now to their wedding day! Walking alongside them in these seasons has been such an honor, and documenting this next chapter was so meaningful to me. They wanted their wedding day to be a celebration of the love and delight that they have found with each other, and a witness of God's love for each and for every one of their guests. I was so honored to get to capture it all!
The ceremony took place at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont, Texas. The Basilica is an absolutely breathtaking church that inspires an immediate sense of reverence - the perfect backdrop for Anna & Will's Nuptial Mass.
Every part of the day was filled with joy and intention. Anna did a first look with her bridesmaids right before the ceremony, and then they took some time to pray over her. After that, Anna had a sweet and emotional first look with her father, which absolutely made me tear up behind the camera! Anna was so excited and so peaceful all at the same time. Then, finally, it was time for the ceremony!
The ceremony began at 2 PM and the sunlight streamed perfectly through the beautiful stained glass as Anna walked down the aisle. Of course, I had to get a few photos of Will watching his bride walk towards her! Seriously, it was the stuff they make movies out of. Overall, it was the kind of ceremony where beauty wasn’t just seen, but felt. All these months later, I continue to be struck by how beautiful this day turned out to be. The ceremony itself was intentional, reverent, and heartfelt. Yet, it was balanced by joyful laughter, warm embraces, and the genuine excitement of their loved ones. Anna & Will radiated peace and happiness, and every glance between them told the story of a love rooted in faith, friendship, and a deep commitment to one another.
One of the highlights of the day was photographing Anna and Will’s bridal party. This group was genuinely so fun to be around! They were a collection of true friends who brought both energy and ease to every moment. From relaxed portraits full of laughter to candid in-between moments, the atmosphere felt lighthearted and celebratory. Working with a wedding party where everyone clearly cares for each other makes the photo experience flow so naturally, and I had so much fun capturing their friendships alongside the couple’s love story.
Then, of course, the reception! Suite C in Beaumont, Texas was the perfect backdrop for Anna & Will's elegant, yet laid-back reception. The highlight of any ceremony for a photographer is seeing your photos incorporated into the decor, so I was very touched to see the engagement photos we took last summer all over the venue! The tables were decorated with taper candles, colorful bunches of flowers, and tons of greenery. All of those beautiful touches and a dance floor that's full all night are my idea of a perfect reception!
The dance party was, in a word, epic. From surprises during parent dances to the groomsmen lifting Will onto their shoulders to a sparkler send-off, we could have kept partying all night! A perfect, rowdy celebration of a day full of so much joy. These people know how to celebrate a marriage!
I'll end with some classic golden hour portraits that we snuck off to take during the reception. What I’ll always remember about this wedding is the way it held both sacred stillness and joyful celebration at once. The cathedral’s grandeur paired with their grounded, joy-filled presence, and finishing off with a rowdy and joyful reception created a day that felt like poetry - a blending of tradition, romance, and authenticity.
These two are truly wonderful people, and being trusted to capture their milestones has been one of the sweetest parts of my work. From graduation to engagement to now, it’s been such an honor to tell their story through photographs, and I can’t wait to see what chapters are yet to come!
